Manage Recovery And Progress

A training plan only works if the player can recover from it. Sleep, food intake, hydration, and light movement all support adaptation. Recovery days may include easy mobility work, stretching, walking, or low-intensity cycling. It is also useful to monitor soreness, energy levels, and performance in key drills. If sprint quality drops, motivation falls, or soreness remains high for too long, the weekly load may need adjustment. Progress should be reviewed regularly by checking strength numbers, sprint times, conditioning markers, and on-field execution.
